Beyonce Drops Teaser for New HBO Project 'Lemonade'
Update, 4/20: Beyonce's cryptic Lemonade project will be a "docu-style special," USA Today reports. The news was spilled by an HBO exec who was expected to keep the info under wraps.
If this is true, Lemonade wouldn't be the singer's first documentary feature. She helmed a similar project in February 2013 with Life Is But a Dream, which also aired on HBO. Her surprise self-titled album followed later in the year in December. Will the long-awaited Formation take the same course?
After dropping the original teaser, Beyoncé released another short trailer on her Instagram. It's a montage including music video and home video footage, plus some eerie shots in between. "The past and the present merge to meet us here," Bey narrates.
At the moment, still no news on whether the special will include any new music videos or songs. Lemonade will be a one-hour event on HBO this Saturday, Apr 23, at 9 PM ET/ 6PM PT.
Original post, 4/16: Take a seat, Beyhive because this is some exciting Beyonce news: The queen is coming to HBO once again.
This morning on Instagram Bey dropped a teaser clip announcing a special worldwide premiere on HBO titled Lemonade. A lot of speculation is going around about what it could be.
Lemonade appears to be the first single off her upcoming sixth studio album, so it could easily be a premiere of the song and video. However, based on her last HBO partnerships, we're expecting a bit more. The whole album and videos a la her "Beyonce" album premiere? Yes please. Or maybe another full-length documentary of her life? We hope so.
No matter what it is we all will be eager counting down the days to April 23 at 9PM when the segment will air. Be sure to clear your calendar for that time. Honestly, just clear your whole day in anticipation.
